How to get better matches

Use original screenshots where possible. Choose a panel type to narrow the candidates. Use Scan a region to exclude unrelated UI, or Add one icon when a border is missed.

Shared icons, gold rarity overlays, tooltip overlap, small crops, and compression can make matches ambiguous. Unknown results are kept for review. This tool does not infer modifiers or ability ranks from artwork alone.

Wiki links come from the reference dataset's page fields. Opening those links needs an internet connection.

Coverage & help

This is a browser-based reference matcher. It compares visible artwork with a bundled STO reference snapshot, and optionally reads names with local OCR. A strong suggestion still needs your review.

The detector locates equipment loadout bars and coherent trait or officer icon grids. Optional equipment rows are included. Hidden or heavily damaged artwork still needs a region scan or a manual correction. Unknown icons remain visible for review.

Records without icons can be found by name or OCR. Some icons represent multiple items or variants. Only the names and categories supported by the reference data are suggested.

Nothing is sent to a server. Images remain in memory for this session. Confirmed icon corrections are saved in browser storage when available. Export references for a reliable backup.

Keyboard: Ctrl+V pastes images; Escape closes dialogs. For local use, open this HTML file directly. For Porkbun, upload the entire folder; see README.md for paths.
