Practical ground rules for products, paid work and the people watching.
Editorial independence
Receiving a free product does not guarantee coverage, positive coverage, a dedicated video, a particular conclusion or a publishing date unless a date has been agreed in writing beforehand. My opinions and conclusions are my own. Brands do not have editorial control over reviews.
Where pre-publication review is agreed, it is normally limited to factual inaccuracies, confidential or proprietary information covered by a prior agreement, and required talking points within a paid advertisement. It is not an opportunity to rewrite opinions, remove criticism or change conclusions.
Samples, loans & unsolicited products
A retained review sample may be kept for testing, comparison or future projects where agreed with the sender. A temporary loan remains subject to the return terms agreed before dispatch. Please state clearly which arrangement you are proposing.
For loans, agree the return date, destination, packaging expectations, insurance and who pays shipping, duties and other costs in advance. Unsolicited products create no obligation to publish or provide a dedicated video. Contact me before sending anything.
Shipping & review units
Shipping arrangements and any import charges must be agreed before dispatch. If a unit arrives damaged, is lost in transit or develops a fault during evaluation, I will communicate the issue so we can agree next steps.
Responsibility for transit loss, insurance claims and damage should be settled in the written sample or loan terms. Destructive testing or modifications that may affect a loaned unit require advance agreement. No blanket replacement-cost obligation is created by sending a unit.
Timing, embargoes & fit
Embargoes, confidentiality and launch-day expectations must be agreed before material or hardware is supplied. Sending an embargo date does not reserve a publishing slot. Testing needs enough time for useful conclusions.
If a product is not a good fit, or issues make the proposed coverage impractical, I will discuss the options with the sender. Coverage may be declined or delayed; loan returns follow the agreed terms. Paid deliverables and changes to their schedule are handled under the campaign agreement.
Paid work & disclosure
Dedicated product videos and integrations are available on CasualSAB and CasualSAB Tech when appropriate. Shipyard accepts integrations only, within normal build or guide content. Paid work is identified as advertising; it does not buy a favorable review.
Sponsorships, free or discounted products and relevant affiliate relationships are disclosed clearly alongside the coverage. Video sponsorship disclosures appear in the video, with spoken and visible wording where appropriate; livestream disclosures are repeated periodically. Applicable YouTube paid-promotion tools are used in addition to clear creator disclosures. Affiliate notices sit near the relevant links. Disclosures follow applicable FTC and YouTube requirements.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error, contact me with the video or page link, the specific statement and supporting information. Material corrections will be made in an appropriate visible location.
A disagreement over an opinion is not a factual correction. New testing or evidence can still change my assessment.
Privacy
This site adds no analytics, advertising trackers, third-party fonts or embedded video players. Your theme choice is saved in local storage on your device. You can remove it by clearing this site’s browser data.
Video thumbnails may load from YouTube image servers, which receive normal connection information such as your IP address. Following a YouTube, Twitch, Patreon or other external link brings you under that service’s privacy practices. Hosting providers may retain routine server logs. Email inquiries are used to respond and manage the relevant conversation; do not send passwords or sensitive account information.
Independent creator & trademarks
CasualSAB is an independent creator website. Star Trek, Star Trek Online and related names and artwork belong to their respective owners. This site is not owned, operated or endorsed by Paramount, CBS, Cryptic, DECA or other game or franchise rights holders.
Channel artwork and video thumbnails identify the creator’s own published content. Their appearance does not grant reuse rights in underlying game or third-party material.
